Floodplain, cleared meadows, floodplain forest remnants
intermittent ponds, adjoining cropland. Rays and disc
yellow, heads nodding, mostly in fruit; locally common
annual 1 m, with B. aristosa, B. comosa. Popular with
butterflies - esp. monarchs, fritillaries; margins of dried
pool.
