* Valle do Agatita is a broad Interior drainage basin located at ca. 103 long, and between 26 and 27° lat. It is bounded to the east by Sierra del Sobaco and Sierra de los Organos „ to the «rest by Sierra de Tlahualilo and to the north by Sierra del Rey. The soil is a fine powdery sil)e often encrusted with salts. The vegetation is dominated by an open stand of Larrea tridentata. At wide intervals, or clustered in depressed areas are Prosopis glandulosa trees. On the coarser soil of bajada areas, the vegetation is more diverse, with Agave lecheguilla, Jatropha dlolaa. Eupho-abia antjaiphllitlGa. gottouiaria splendens. Serlcodes greggil. Opuntla. bradtlana. Opuntla xeotooaulis abd other species.
