PEDERNALLES PROV.: Sierra de Baoruca; frequent in
wet montane woodland (Ochroma, Nectandra) of narrow
canyon surrounded by pinewoods on trail to Aqua Negra
(area locally called Las Abejas), 49 km drive north-
ward from Cabo Rojo on the Alcoa property near
Independencia Prov. boundary. Fronds massive,
plants stemless. if tree fern then iuvenile.
