  • Habitat

    Chaco scrub forest to 10 m. tall, at this time almost completely leafless, but many plants blooming. With Ruprechitia triflora,. Herreria, Capparis spp. Soil sandy.

  • Description

    Massive epiphte on tree. Stem to 10 cm. thick, spiny, several meters long, leaning to 2 m. away from the tree trunk without support, with woody prop or aerial roots hanging to ground. Plant with smell of celery but not quite as pleasant. Spathe green; spadix white when spathe open. This or very similar species is cutlivated in the city of Santa Cruz and reaches 1-2 m. in height. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
