Outcrop of weathered and fractured whitish

limestone at top of high, north facing ridge,
this formation capped a solid layer of tan
limestone (10 ft thick) that lay over many
feet of blackish shale, similar formations
occurring at scattered sites along ridge,
vegetation sparse, of Juniperus monosperma and
scattered perennial forbs, common, elev. 4,585 ft.
