Coastal sclerophyll. Allocasuarina. Gregarious. In sand.

Description
Pileus 4.5-7 cm broad, convex, dry, finely squamulose with brown squamules on red background, yellow at margin; margin attached at stipe to form marginate rim on stipe base. Tubes Stipe up to 6 cm long, up to 5 cm broad, dry, bright yellow above rim, yellow to red with fine brown squamules below rim. Flesh yellow, cyanescent. These specimens show the velar attachment quite exceptionally. See also 8746, 8776, 8917 (all from FNQld).
