Non-flooded (upland) mixed forest, emergents 30-40 m.

Description
Tree. Largest capsule seen 6 x 6.5 cm (incl cap on fruit), surface whitish-brown-yellow, scaly; seeds 4, chocolate brown, shiny, w/ tan longitudinal striping, cream-colored aril attached. Fruits collected from forest floor. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
