In open flat-rocky area with Pinus ponderosa,
Symphoricarpos oreophilus, Juniperus scopulorum,
Berberis repens, Amelanchier utahensis, Senecio
neomexicanus, Delphinium nuttallianum, Quercus
gambelii, Populus tremuloides, Artemesia tridentata,
Allium. Common mat-forming herbaceous perennial,
growing in hummock of juniper, phyllary tips pink,
pappus white.
