Anisocoma acaulis Torr. & Gray

GLASS MOUNTAIN REGION: N edge of Long Valley; steep
slopes leading up to Sentinel Meadow RNA. (Dexter Cyn. quad:
37° 45.739'N, 118° 47.876'W; T2S R29E S20, NE/4). Alt.:
2317m/7600ft.

20° to 30° S-facing sandy and rocky granitic slopes. Burning and
grazing widespread, with occasional Pinus monophylla woodlands
remaining. Bromus tectorum abundant on disturbed open areas.
Open sandy areas with Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata,
Elymus elymoides, Achnatherum hymenoides, Hesperostipa
comata. Erysimum capitatum, Phacelia bicolor, Mentzelia
congesta, Plagiobothrys kingii, Tiquilia nuttallii. Rocky outcrops
with Ericameria cuneatus, Scrophularia, Cercocarpus.

Common on soft sandy disturbed areas.
