This portion of the state forest is approximately 0.4 mile north of Croton. A horse trail goes through an open area in an oak forest. This site is on the Southern Iowa Drift Plain. Ambrosia bidentata is locally common adjacent to the horse trail. It is associated with Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Dianthus armeria. Fraaaria virainiana. Lobelia inflata. Phleum pratense. Poa compressa. Solidaao canadensis and Sorohastrum nutans. Mark J.
