Habitat
Often submerged in bed of creek. On stones.

Description
Occurs in depressed mats. Agrees nearly with Limnobium alpestre, except costa absent or slightly developed... The middle part of the mats (7 to 12 inches wide) fruit profusely, but the leaves are discolored by deposition of silt, or torn away by rapid water. The creeping main stems extend about the border on nearly bare stone and bear fresh green upright crowded branches. Phenology of specimen: Sporangia.
