Decideuous forest. Quercus, Fagus, Acer, Betula, Tsuga. Gregarious. On soil.

Description
Pileus 3-5 cm broad, convex to broadly subumbonate; surface dry, fibnrillose, reddish (8,9C-D8) to dark reddish brown (9E8) on the disc and becoming plaer (8D7) toward the margin with age. Margin enitire when young (cortina not observed), becoming laciniate when old. Context 8-10 mm thick, water soaked, but appearing reddish spotted to (7B6,5). Lamellae adnate to arcuate, with 3 tiers of lamellulae, with even non-margiante margins, up to 5 mm wide, slightly bulbous at the base, or tapering downward witha ge; surface dry, concolorous with pileus below, and fibrils above also concolorous but there on a orangish brown ground color (5,6B6). Context fibrous and water soaked, dark cinnamon brown at base, becoming paler above. Taste mild to none, with taste raphanoid to none. KOH(+) NH4OH(+) maroon purple on context and cuticle of pileus and stipe.
