Recently burnt S-facing slope of loose decomposed granite and
pumice soil. Pinus jeffreyi woodland with Populus tremuloides, Rosa
woods ii. Artemisia tridentala. Cercocarpus ledifolius, Be tula
occidentalis, and various recovering root-sprouters.

Occasional in burnt Populus tremuloides understory.
