CALIFORNIA, Humboldt Co., about I4 mi. E of the
North Fork of the Mad River on Hwy. 299 on Lord
Ellis Grade. In opening in doug fir, alder, big
leaf maple, pepperwood, madrone woods. Plant
about 3 feet high, the bare lower 18 inches of
stem removed in preparing specimen, stems 1 or
2 per plant, rays pale lavender.
