Habitat
Dry grassland on quartzite and white sand, apparently subject to flooding with red lateritic soils in the valleys with cerrado. This plant in grassland.

Description
Bushy shrub to 1.5 m. Leaves coriaceous, strongly curled, very dark glossy green above, grey beneath, when young whitish beneath with fawn veins. Inflorescence axis fawn. Buds brownish-white. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
