Aster nwdestus Lindl.

IDAHO COUNTY: Nez Perce N.F., Slate
Creek at mouth of No Business Creek. T27N
R2E S36 (NE 'A). Relatively flat bench at
mouth of creek in narrow, shady canyon
bottom, granitic soil/rocky stream alluvium.
Several plants in and along Slate Creek
between high and low water, near stand of 80-
100 year old Abies grandis. Plants formed
band adjacent to but back of a band of Aster
hesperius, different in appearance from A.
hesperius. Associated with Gymnocarpium
dryopteris, Adiantum pedatum, Asarum
caudaturn, Polystichum munitum. Aster
hesperius, Alnus rhombifolia, Plantago major,
Cinna latifolia, Anthemus cotula, Cichorium
intybus. Abies grandis / Pachistima myrsinites
h.t. Elevation 2600 ft.
