  • Description

    Pileus 5.5-6 cm broad, caramel brown (6C6), broadly conic, subviscid to glutinous when moist, very slightly bumpy on disc, finely appressed subareolate squamulose toward margin with some sterile appendiculate remnants. Flesh white, unchanging with mild odor and with bitter tasting pellicle. Tubes adnexed, vinaceous pink with pores concolorous, staining pale brown. Stipe 8 x 1 cm, equal, coarsely lacunose-reticulate, with reticulum a pale brown (cinnamon brown 6D6), with white at stipe surface (in lacunae), white at base, with a bright yellow area where injured in situ.
