Hickory Creek; about 8.1 miles due east-southeast of
Vandalia, 0.1-0.2 mile northwest of Confidence Road
(1750E). Brownstown 7.5 minute U.S.G.S. quadrangle.
Elevation 510-530 feet. Disturbed sands and silt,
alluvial deposits on stream terrace.

Floodplain forest, dominated by Acer negundo, Acer
saccharinum, Morns rubra, Cornus drummondii,
Campsis, Polygonum spp., Leersia virginica. Rays
lilac (pale purple-blue), disc yellow; local
bushy-branched perennial 1 meter tall with Aster
novae-angliae.
