Habitat
Perennial spring in narrow canyon running S-N. Pumice soil with rhyolite outcrops above. Open Pinus jeffryi woodland with grazed Artemisia tridentata / Purshia tridentata scrub. With Populus tremuloides, Mimulus guttatus, Aquilegia formosa, Sphenosciadium capitellatum, Achillea millefolium, Rosa woodsii, Ribes cereum, Urtica dioica, Carex lanuginosa.

Common on stream edges. To 1.5m high, rays pale lavendar.
