Ray petals white; disk petals yellow- white, turning pale pink-purple. Growing at the edge of an old field on moist clay soil with Aster lateriflorus, A. novae- angliae, A. pilosus, A. simplex, A. tradescanti, Bidens frondosa, Mentha spicata, and Solidago canadensis (or S. altissima).
