Aster frondosus (Nutt.) T. & G.

A small colony of about 3 dozen plants on
sandy flat with some Distichlis. Ray flowers
pink. Invols. cylindric before pressing, ex-
cept in one plant, with maturer heads, in
which they were somewhat turbinate-campanul-
ate. Immediately west of Eastshore Highway,
at eastern edge of San Francisco Bay, a short
distance south of the Powell St. freeway in-
terchange, Bneryville.
