    In ravines on moderate W and NW-facing slopes of ridge along S side of Middle Crow Creek, grading into montane meadow with Artemisia tridentata, Cercocarpus montanus and Purshia tridentata on gentle SE-facing slope near top of ridge; Soil gravelly; Complex of sphaeroidally weathered boulders and massive expances of bedrock of Precambrian Sherman Granite in open Pinus flexilis-Pinus ponderosa-Pseudotuga menziesii forest, with understory of Acer glabrum, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Jamesia americana, and Ribes cerum, and Populus tremuloides. Common to Locally abundant.
