Phila. Acad. 1862: 100. 1862. A. A. Heller, collector August 6, 1915. Near Echo Camp on the Lincoln Highway, elevation 7000 feet, in open places in the forest in damp granite soil. The prin- cipal tree* is Ahies magnifica. Pinus Murrayana abounds in low places about meadows, with an occasional P. Jeffreyi on exposed ridges. Common undershrubs are Ceanothus aud Castanopsis.
