West-facing slopes of Cerro de Carboneras above the Río Cupa-
titzio, ca. 22 kms. south of Uruapan; dominant vegetation Pinus,
Quercus, and scattered Sable. Elevation 3300-3700 ft.

One plant on grassy hillside in shade of
oak tree, rocky soil, culms somewhat de-
cumbent and knotty at base, blades flat.
