thief Springs; elev. c. 4500 ft; on rocky limestone
desert slopes in desert scrub with Grayia spinosa,
Salazaria mexicana, Keckiella antirrhinoides, Salvia
spp, Penstemon palmeri, Purshia, Cowania, Prunus fas-
ciculata, Coelogyne, Yucca & Opuntia spp, Ferocactus,
Thamnosma, Tetradymia & Ephedra spp, etc; perennial
grass with purplish spikelets.
