Specimen Notes
[ "Torrey stated that Dalea formosa was collected '[o]n the Platte.' Dalea formosa, however, was not collected on the Platte, so it is not at all certain where James collected Dalea enneandra. To judge by its known range, the collection could have been made in any of the five staes through which James traveled from June through August." fide Goodman, G. and C. Lawson. Retracing Major Stephen H. Long's 1820 Expedition. University of Oklahoma Press, 1995.]
