and Quincy) tracks, at ridge along utility line. 0.4 miles
east of junction of Illinois Route 23 and U.S. Route 30;
south side. Waterman 7.5 min. quadrangle. Elevation
750 feet. Dark clay-loam.

Mesic railroad prairie remnant, with Andropogon
gerardii, Silphium integrifolium, Sporobolus
juncea, Aster laevigatus. Common perennial grass;
panicles shiny, pale tan, anthers golden yellow.
