Glumes purplish, the outer lanceolate, 2mm long, sharply acuminate,
the inner lanceolate, Jmm long, acute; both glabrous.

Spikelets about lowered.

Rachi11a-joint 0.9-1.2mm long, increasing distally, the callus
bearded with white hairs 0»5-0.8mm long.

Lemmas narrowly lanceolate, 10-12mm long, 7-nerved, scabrous, bigid
for about 1mm and bearing between the fi slender teeth a scabrous
awn 10-12mm long.

Palea 5»9mni long, involute below, distally flat and ciliate
