Caesalpinia ?laxiflora Tul. or hybrid between C. «fealwnna and C. ?pyramidalis BRAZIL: Bahia: 27 km S of Livramento do Brumado on road to Brumado, near two hamlets of Fazendinha and Itapicuru. C. 41°45'W, 13°53'S Caatinga. Shrub to 2.5 m x 2 cm; bark smooth, grey; leaflets semi-coriaceous, bluish green; petals yellow (flowers as C. pyramidalls but claws glandular and petal shape more as C. calycina but much smaller). All flowers insect damaged - hardly any fruit set. Both putative parents growing together in this locality with Amburana cearensis, Calllandra depauperata, Coursetia rostrata common. Photographs.
