Habitat
Dissected rhyolitic alluvium. With Tetradymia, Grayia, Psorothamnus, Chrysothamnus, Sarcobatus. Locally abundant at station, not seen elsewhere.

Spinescent shrubs to 4 dm high with somewhat fleshy leaves.
