Submontane forest. mixed forest with Quercus oocarpa, Q. copeyensis. Gregarious. On leaf litter.

Description
Pileus convex to campanulate, velutinous, 2.5-6 cm broad, dry, 8D-E8,7 at first, then 7D-E8,7, usually remaining darker on the disc, shallowly sulcate at first, deeply so with age. Lamellae adnexed, remote to distant, white, edges even and concolrous with faces. Stipe smooth and shiny, corneous, yellow above and orange brown below when young, soon deep reddish brown, arising from a pade of pale cream colored mycelium, 6-8 cm long, 2-3 mm broad, equal.
