Description
Vouchers for wood specimens, MADw, collected from downed trees and shrubs during Hurricane Sandy the previous day. The wood from one of the more or less erect upper main trunks. Tree 14 m. tall with three trunks (two blown over) from base, to 30 cm. in diameter. Reproductive portion restricted to uppermost part of tree; twigs with next-year's strobili, both sexes present or not on a single twig. Cones were collected still attached to tree although old and weathered. Some tumid, wingless seeds released as the cones dried. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
