Poaceae Stipa speciosa Trinius & Ruprecht MT GLEASON Area: north-northwesterly ridge descending from MESSENGER PEAK (6015 ft), on the watershed divide between Mill Canyon and Moody Canyon; Acton USGS 7.5' quadrangle; T4N R13W, SW/4 SE/4 section 26; elevation ca. 4290-4500 feet. Local slopes dominated by chaparral elements including Quercus wislizeni, Ceanothus greggii vestitus, Keckiella ternata, Adenostoma fasciculatum, Cercocarpus betuloides, Arctoslaphylos glauca, Eriodictyon tricho- calyx, E. crassifolium.
