H Mirage USGS 7.5' Quadrangle; T5N R8W, NE/4 NE/4 NE/4 NW/4 section 4. Elevation ca 3550-3580 feet. Steep rocky slopes; fairly open with mostly low tortured shrubs or subshrubs including Larrea tridentata, Hymenoclea salsola, Ericameria cooperi. Ephedra nevadensis, Lycium andersonii, Salazaria mexicana, Lepidium fremontii, etc. Locally scattered tufted perennial near the summit of the butte. Timothy S. Ross 4720 27 April 1991
