    Strongly rhizomatous or stoloniferous perenn., culms decumb., rooting at lower nodes, 2-6 dm long; infl. of panicles composed of 3-6 digitally arranged spikes. Native to tropical Africa (possibly). Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
