Sandy soybean (Glycine max)field with numerous
weeds—Panicum dichotomiflorum, P. capillare,
Setaria viridis, S_. faberi, Digitaria sanguinalis,
Cenchrus longispinus, Abutilon theophrasti,
Hibiscus trionum (all panicoid grasses or
Malvaceae !).
Common in spots, 1-1.5 m. tall, + erect, sometimes
in clumps of ca. 100 stems from a single base and ;
then some of the culms decumbent at the base and
rooting at first nodes before becoming erect.
Along Hwy. lU, 3^ miles east of ARENA.
