Large, dense clump. Leaves white-striped, although some
plants in this clump solid green. Two weeks later another
clump of this species a few meters away was seen to be
visited by Passer domesticus which alighted on the culm
and passed branches of the inflorescence between the two
parts of the beak, as if removing and eating the spikelets.
