Description
Canopy tree with a straight, unbuttressed bole. Leaves elliptic, rugose between secondary veins. Flowers with 6 green sepals; 6 deep burgundy petals and a pinkish wine androecial hood that is flap-like and open at top. Fertile anthers white, around pistil; fodder anthers orange, just distal of the fertile anthers, before genicle of hood. Staminodes only on flap of androecial hood. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
