Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Assumed Poika to be the village Bigi Poika and the Saramacca Bridge to be the nearby bridge over the Saramacca River (connecting Bigi Poika and Pikin Saron) in Para, Suriname. Used Google Maps - Earth View to locate the village of Bigi Poika and the Saramacca Bridge. Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to measure a straight line between the approximate geographic center of the village of Bigi Poika and the approximate geographic center of the Saramacca Bridge, then halved this distance to find the midpoint between the two. Used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the midpoint; used the halved distance as the linear extent. Input coordinates, coordinate precision (.00001 degrees), datum (WGS84), linear extent (7750.0 m), and measurement error (5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Between two Places).
