Excellent collection. We have only 2 other
colls* of this species from Mexico. The
Mex. specimens differ somewhat from the U.S.
specimens and may merit varietal rank.

Along the Ojuelos-Aguascalientes highway, between Paso de la
Troje and the Aguascalientes State Line; level grasslands, mostly
devoted to cornfields; elevation 2000-2050 m.
About 1 mile east of State Line, filling
permanent pools to the exclusion of other
plants.
In water 30 - 50 cm. deep; infl. and tips
of leaves emersed; stamens fugacious.
