Elev. 10,100 ft. Bald ridge top NE end
of Mtn. 50% bare ground; sand loam loese.
On flat ridge top in low densely thatched
tundra in shallow sandy loam soil.
With dominants: Silene acaulis, Poa
sandbergii, P. glauca, Astragalus miser,
Carex nardTna, Draba oligosperma,
Mertensia alpina, Arenaria congesta.
Forming clumps to 1 m broad.
