[Botanist Dr. Caspar Wistar Eddy was the nephew of Dr. David Hosack, founder of the Elgin Botanic Garden, one of the first botanical gardens in the United States (established 1801). Eddy contributed many plants to the Elgin.] "Specimen labelled by Delile." [Alire Raffeneau Delile was Napoleon's botanist.] This label contains Dr. Hosack's handwriting.
