  • Description

    Pileus 2-4 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, subviscid-sticky, matted tomentose to matted subtomentose or nearly suede-like under a thin layer of dried to semi-dried gluten, becoming almost finely areolate, brown to light brown (6D7, 6E8) with a slightly projecting sterile margin. Flesh white, with mild odor and barely slightly bitter taste. Tubes adnexed, whitish at first, soon vinaceous pink, bruising slightly pale brownish, with pores angular and 1-2/mm. Stipe 2.5-4.5 cm long, 6-10 mm broad, equal to tapering downward, dry, alveolate-reticulate, white at apex, pale tan to pale brown to pale cinnamon brown(6D6) below, white at base, with interior white above, brown below becoming hollow.
