Habitat
On open ridge with Draba densifolia, Poa secunda, Potentilla diversifolia, and Draba apiculata. Plants abundant. Soil thin and gravelly. derived from reddish volcanics.

Flowers magenta; plts mostly just reaching anthesis, none in fruit. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
