Habitat
Along trail by low edge of native grassland being restored adjacent to woods; much of the grassland (presumably an old rocky pasture) has been burned or mowed in recent decades, allowing the Rudbeckia to flourish with relatively little competition from taller plants, cedars, etc. Locally frequent.

From cultivation in garden of Julian Campbell, Lexington, KY. Livingg plant originally propagated fom 2011 collection. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
