49’ 38.2” W. Long. T. IN, R. 7W, SW1/4 Sect. 12 Scott
Air Force Base; about 3.5 miles east southeast of Shiloh,
west side of Silver Creek between airport taxi runway
and Norfolk Southern Railway. Lebanon 7.5 minute
U.S.G.S. quadrangle. Elevation 410-430 feet. Alluvial
soil, moist to wet clay loam, stream - river terrace.
Floodplain forest, relatively undisturbed and diverse, wit
Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Quercus spp. Carya laciniosa,
Acer saccharinum, Ilex decidua, Cephalanthus
occidentalis, Comus drummondii. Common ascending
weak-stemmed grass to about 1 meter tall, spikelets
green, in shade, more common to southeast of forest
stand.
