GALLETA GRASS. Perennials from deep rhizomes forming
extensive colonies.
1.8 mile N 75° E of Antelope Springs at base of range in
Deep Springs Valley, T7S R36E S17. Silty calcareous soil
sloping 15° N on old lacustrine beds, mixed desert scrub
with Psorothamnus, Atriplex. Menodora and Tetradvmia.
Locally abundant and dominant, especially on somewhat
protected desert slopes with loose soil.
