GLASS MOUNTAIN REGION: Sawmill Meadow; lower (N) end
of meadow, as it constricts into Sawmill Creek. (Glass Mtn.
quad: 37° 46.484'N, 118° 40.726'W; T2S R30E S16, SE/4 of
NW/4). Alt.: 2768m/9080ft.
Open grazed meadow on pumice soil above running stream. With
small encroaching Pinus contorta, Achillea millefolium, Aster
occidentalis, Gayophytum, Trifolium longipes, Salix, Potentilla,
Polygonum, Cowpies. Dry uplands of Artemisia tridentata scrub.
Occasional, basal clumps to 2dm across, often infertile.
