River; 'back 40' section south of Drummond road, E of
Rt. 1-55. Elev. 530-540 ft. "Malvastrum hispidum Site
9", Disturbed, shallow (2-14 cm) organically rich loamy
clay with gravel over dolomite 'pavement' bedrock.
Mesic to dry-mesic dolomite prairie, somewhat disturbed
with Malvastrum hispidum, Sporobolus vaginiflorus,
Linum sulcatum, Isanthus brachiatus, Calamintha
arkansana, Ambrosia artemisiifolia. Occasional
perennial in circular clumps; inflorescence dull purplish;
locally common.
