Digitaria ciliaris (Retz.) Koeler

Character combinations of this
specimen do not correlate with any
of the annual species of Digitaria
presently known from North America.
Relative 2nd glume length matches
D. bicomis, D. nuda, or even D.
ciliaris. Spikelet length matches
D. nuda. Lower lemma nervation
matches D. horizontalis. First
glume length matches D setigera.
Leaf pubescence matches D. nuda,
D. bicomis, and D. ciliaris. So,
I don’t know. The specimen is prob-
ally a hybrid. It seems to be
most closely related to D. nuda
and D. ciliaris.

P.S. I do not think that this is a
new species as this is the only
specimen that I have encountered
with these character combinations.
